At the Idaho High School Rodeo Dist.# 6 State Qualifier on Saturday,
May 22 in Rupert, Idaho, Mickenlie Baxter, the 15
year old daughter of LeRoy and Vicki Baxter was crowned
Queen receiving a perfect score on her rulebook test, voted
as Miss Congeniality, and won the Personality and Appearance
portion of he contest. "Mick" is an honor student at Hansen High
School where she will be a Junior this fall and was voted "Most
Spirited", was awarded the FFA Discovery Star, Green Hand and
Natural Helper. Miss Baxter is the driving force behind having
Rachel's Challenge in her school, a great program that promotes
kindness & compassion. Mickenlie served as Student Body Secretary,
FFA Vice-President, Varsity Cheerleader and is on the volleyball and
basketball team. Miss Baxter enjoys snow skiing, riding her horses
and spending time with her friends. With her second year of High
School Rodeo under her belt, she competed in breakaway, goat tying
and pole bending.
Only two and one half points separated Queen
and First Attendant with the latter title going to
Raeli Prescott the 14 year old daughter of Diane Hooper and
Shane and Becky Prescott of Kimberly. Raeli also claimed the
Horsemanship, Speech and Modeling portion and will be
representing Dist.#6 at the Idaho State High School Rodeo Finals
June 12-20 in Pocatello. Raeli will be a Sophomore at Kimberly High
School and participates in FFA where she received the Green Hand
Award and is a Cheerleader. Raeli will also be competeing in pole
bending and cowcutting at state. Miss Prescott was named Idaho's
Youth Champion for 2009 as well as Cutting Youth Champion of Area 3
which includes Idaho, Utah and Nevada. Raeli enjoys singing and
reading with the Twilight Series being her favorite.
Second Attendant, Britney Harvey is the
fifteen year old daughter of Chris and Shelly Harvey of Buhl and
will be a Junior at Buhl High School where she is an honor student,
a cheerleader, member of the FFA, a Teen Leader for Pig Power 4-H
Club. Britney's hobbies include hunting, boating and drawing and
being a fun loving person, she enjoys trying new things.
Bradie Hart claimed the title of Third
Attendant and won the Impromtu category.
Bradie is the fifteen year old daughter of Travis and Coliese Hart
of Rupert and will be a Junior at Minico High School. Bradie
participates in volleyball, 4-H, FFA is a Minidoka Wrangler and
enjoys Cowboy Mounted Shooting and is the reigning Minidoka Sr.
Princess.
Fourth Attendant is Talor Stauffer,
the 16 year old daughter of Tony and Tracey Stauffer also of Rupert,
a will be Junior at Minico High School where she is an active
member of FFA, 4-H, Health Academy and is an all-around hand in the
rodeo arena. Talor enjoys her friends, babysitting and spending time
with her family, but most of all, her favorite activity is
underwater basket weaving!
The queen and all the attendants work throughout the year
promoting IHSRA Dist.#6 by helping at Christmas in The Night Time
Sky, representing at various rodeos, parades, media events, fund
raisers and etc. Many times, the 4th attendant represents as much as
the queen, the girls scatter out and work together . . . it's
amazing!
